Procedure Inforgraphics – Gastric Bypass

Researching the various types of bariatric procedures offered today is very important to those who decided to undergo weight loss surgery.

It is important to know:

  • What are these procedures,
  • How are these performed,
  • What requirements they have
  • What are the risks these might present
  • What kind of weight loss they provide (quick or slow and steady)
  • are they reversible or non-reversible

Plus all the information a potential bariatric surgery patient needs to know in order to feel safe and succeed in losing weight.

I’ve created a visual aid to help you understand  various procedures procedures.  Having a clear “picture” of a weight loss procedure helps the patient understand more. This is our first procedure infographic about gastric bypass surgery performed by Dr. Jeremy Korman.

Gastric Bypass With Dr. Jeremy Korman

The gastric bypass procedure

The gastric bypass is an established bariatric procedure which provided excellent long-term weight loss results. Roux-en-Y gastric bypass involves two main steps:

  1. Creating a small pouch on the upper part of the stomach
  2. Dividing the small intestine and attaching a part of it to the newly created pouch this way “bypassing” a large part of the stomach.

Dr. Korman performs the gastric bypass procedure using laparoscopy, a minimally invasive technique.
